Leaky Wave Array in Full Planar Substrate with EBG-Based Wave Guiding Channel

چکیده

A new type of wave guiding structure is proposed this paper. The channel developed on the full planar dielectric substrate and aligned with electromagnetic bandgap (EBG) units. Since these mushroom-like units calculated a coverage working band, are great importance ensuring transmission efficiency eliminating coupling effect between channels. Then, extended to design six-element leaky antenna array complete size 25.6 mm × 80.6 mm, which at Ku band from 12.0 GHz 12.8 achieving bandwidth about 0.8 GHz, gain 11.36 dBi, an ca. 86.7% GHz. Within frequency topology achieves frequency-dependent beam scanning in forward directions, it offers potential for radar application road speed detecting low costs.

Planar Leaky-Wave Antennas

Leaky-wave antennas use a traveling wave to radiate continuously along a radiating aperture in order to produce a focused beam of radiation. Planar leaky-wave antennas are particularly attractive since they use simple dielectric layers and/or metallic screens over a grounded substrate layer. A simple source such as a dipole or slot inside the substrate or on the ground plane excites the leaky w...

A Multi-Channel Interface Circuit with Low Substrate Noise for Surface Acoustic Wave Sensor Array

Electronic nose (E-Nose) is one of the applications for surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors. In general, the SAW sensor, as a gas sensor, consists of a passive element (LiNbO3 and IDTs) and an oscillator circuit, as shown in Fig. 1. For the E-Nose applications, a SAW sensor array is formed to construct the odor patterns for gas recognition. Because the oscillator frequency of each sensor is so ...

High-gain Millimeter-wave Planar Array Antennas with Traveling-wave Excitation

High-gain and large-aperture antennas with fixed beams are required to achieve high S/N ratio for point-to-point high-speed data-communication systems in the millimeter-wave band. Furthermore, beam-scanning antennas are attractive to cover wide angle with high gain for applications of high-speed data-communication systems and high-resolution sensing systems. High-gain pencil-beam antennas are u...

Silicon-based optical leaky wave antenna with narrow beam radiation.

We propose a design of a dielectric (silicon nitride) optical leaky wave antenna (OLWA) with periodic semiconductor (silicon) corrugations, capable of producing narrow beam radiation. The optical antenna radiates a narrow beam because a leaky wave (LW) with low attenuation constant is excited at one end of the corrugated dielectric waveguide. We show that pointing angle, beam-width, and operati...

Full Wave Analysis of Planar Interconnect Structures Using FDTD–SPICE

This paper describes a full wave approach for analyzing planar interconnect structures, such as power distribution systems in printed circuit boards and multichip modules, using a tightly coupled combination of FDTD and SPICE. The technique enhances the present hybrid full wave circuit methods in terms of robustness and efficiency. The method is applied to a few sample problems to illustrate it...
